Oriola acquiring laboratory and medical equipment businesses from Instrumentarium

Oriola, a division in the Orion Group for pharmaceutical distribution and marketing of healthcare equipment and supplies, is acquiring part of the Instrumentarium Corp. Instrumed's laboratory and hospital equipment businesses.

The agreement will take effect as of March 8, 2000. The transaction involves the stock of goods unsold, all contracts related to the products meant by the agreement, the order stock for the products, as well as some fixed assets related to technical service. Also 24 Instrumed employees engaged in the sales, marketing, technical services or logistics for these businesses will join Oriola. The transferred businesses will contribute around EUR 5 million to the annual net sales of the Prolab and Medi-cal Products units of Oriola.
