Charity, drug and other donations, support to patient organisations, and approach to political activity
Charitable donations and support to patient organisations paid from Orion's funds are subject to management consideration and decision-making.
Charitable support, donations and financial sponsorship to organisations promoting health and well-being are matters subject to management consideration and decision-making. Accordingly, decisions on each object and the related agreements concerning the scope and form of the sponsorship are made by the management. An individual employee is not entitled to promise a donation of other support in the name of Orion, and the company is not bound by grants promised unduly against the company guidelines, without management decision. Proposals for potential objects of charity shall be channeled via supervisors to the Group management.
The principles for donations by Orion are recorded in the Donations Policy which is included in the Corporate Governance Manual.
Orion publishes the support granted by the company to patient organisations annually on its internet website. The transparency in the sponsoring activity is based on confidence and the common objective to promote the patients’ health and well-being.
Orion may participate with either a financial contribution or a drug donation to requests for grants and charitable projects, if the purpose is a clear public healthcare need. Medicines and other financial support can only be donated in accordance with the Donations Policy included in the Corporate Governance Manual.
Neither financial nor other kind of support is allocated by Orion to political activity. The premises or resources of the company are not available for arranging, hosting, supporting or promoting personal political activity.
