The Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) is a public-private partnership between the European Community represented by the European Commission and the pharmaceutical industry, represented by the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA).

IMI supports more efficient discovery and development of better medicines for patients through its €2 billion research programme, focusing on safety, efficacy, knowledge management and education & training.
