Research and development is very active in the field of generics. Orion continually develops or co-develops several new generic drugs. Orion’s research and development organisation works in close co-operation with internal partners also in supporting  in-licensing activities.

Research and development work is also done to ensure that Orion’s wide range of products already in the market, that is approximately 300 products,  are of current and good quality (life cycle management).

Personnel in research and development also offer their expertise in support of Orion contract manufacturing business. Contract manufacturing is a Supply Chain owned business where Orion manufactures drugs for other companies and thus optimises its service level.
