Happy@Work – a tool to improve the atmosphere at work

The job satisfaction of Orion employees is assessed with the annual Happy@Work survey, which targets the entire personnel. The response rate has exceeded 80% in recent years, which indicates that the staff believes in the survey’s power to influence matters.

We have found the climate survey to be a useful tool for promoting the success of work and the well-being of staff, provided that it is correctly designed and properly used. The survey’s practical impact comes from the results being analysed and measures being determined collectively. The results are evaluated by both the executive management board and by individual departments. The conclusions are used to select a few concrete measures to improve work climate and well-being at work.

Tackling matters without delay has had a positive effect on the survey results, which have improved each year. Orion has achieved excellent results in many fields compared to the national data collected by the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health. Orion’s strengths include good management and leadership. We also monitor the practical implementation of our values. The clear majority of Orion employees feel the values are present in their work.
