Riitta Knuutila did not waste time after she saw a job advertisement for an operator. Two weeks later she was already working on the packaging line.

– I knew that Orion is a stable employer that offers good benefits, says Riitta.

Riitta has attended cleaning validation and job guidance training while working at Orion. She now works on several packaging lines, offering a helping hand wherever it is needed.

– It is challenging to learn the details of every packaging line, but help is always available. I enjoy the versatility of my work. Working in three shifts suits me.

The image of operators putting goods into cardboard boxes on their own, day in day out, makes Riitta laugh.

– This is teamwork from beginning to end. The work is versatile and also includes computer tasks.

Riitta Knuutila builds well-being by ensuring the quality of the packaging materials and products.

– Customers must be able to trust that the jars always contain the right substance. We are very strict about that.

An operator also has to tolerate routines and be able to follow instructions. Product safety requires that no risks be taken at any point.

– Everything must go right the first time, Riitta emphasises.

She assures that independent thinking is needed nevertheless.

– You cannot wait for constant instructions on the packaging line, you have to act on your own. My work suits diligent and responsible people who are willing to take initiative and learn new things.
