When Peter Makary had worked in Orion in Hungary as a sales representative for eight years, he began to long for new challenges. After working a few years as a researcher he found the company again.

– In December 2007 my dream job opened up in Espoo, so I leapt the opportunity and Finland became my family’s home, he looks back.

Now Peter works as a Medical Advisor, supporting Global Sales. He answers questions that doctors have on products. There are over 100 specialty products on his responsibility.

–By answering the questions thoroughly and quickly I contribute to them wanting to use our products also in the future. They will know that they get advice and support in using them.

Peter also arranges meetings for key customers. The goal is to share medical information while building the corporate image and branding the products as well. His job also includes close cooperation with Orion country organizations across Europe.

The tasks require professional skills and interest in different medical fields as well as an open mind. Colliding cultures bring about their own challenges, especially with communication. While living in Finland Peter did not face major conflicts, though.

– There wasn’t even a language barrier, because everyone speaks English – I had to go to four university courses to learn Finnish!

Also a supporting and encouraging team and an international atmosphere have contributed to enjoying the work.

– Orion as a company is just suitable for me: not too big to be stiff and hierarchical, but it still has enough power to be an important player in the European market, Peter describes.

In summer 2010 Peter Makary moved back to Hungary, but his work with building well-being continues.

– When I give a doctor advice on how to utilize the product, also the patient will be happier and feel better.
